Dear PSD Families and Staff,

Our schools have been working hard planning for the first day of school on September 8 for students in grades 1-12 and September 11 for kindergartners. Please see below for important information regarding the 2020-2021 school year.

PSD Planning to Reopen in Stage 3

Current COVID-19 conditions will allow us to start the school year in Stage 3. You can review our dial of stages here and read PSD's reopening web page for more important information.

Stage 3 offers a remote platform AND allows small specific groups of students into school buildings to attend in-person learning for a limited number of days and hours.

When deciding which students to invite onto campus, schools will work in elementary, middle, and high school level groups for the purpose of consistency district-wide; however, schools will be able to individually decide when and to whom Stage 3 invitations for in-person learning will be offered.

Updated Guidebook

Today we are publishing an updated version of our Peninsula Schools Reopening Guidebook, which provides new details and information, including:

  1. Descriptions of each re-opening stage, including more details on Stage 3;

  2. How the district will determine when to move the dial to a new stage;

  3. COVID-19 Safety Protocols; and the

  4. 2020-2021 school year calendar.

Family Survey

As we plan not only for the opening of school, but also for student participation throughout the stages of reentry, we are asking for your help.

Please complete this planning survey, as your answers will help our planning efforts for both the short-term and long-term. Your answers will not be binding.

Please complete this survey once for each child you have enrolled in PSD. This survey will close on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer. We look forward to partnering with you again this school year.

Sincerely,

PSD Leadership
