A graphic with information about the Guaranteed Admissions Program

The Peninsula School District is a proud participant of the Washington State Council of Presidents Guaranteed Admissions Program (GAP), which offers the opportunity for 11th and 12th grade students to apply to in-state colleges and universities with guaranteed admission.

Five of Washington’s public, four-year institutions launched the GAP pilot program in the 2021-2022 school year. Due to the success of the pilot program, GAP is now an official program in its second year. The focus of GAP is to increase access to college for students who may not have considered college as a post-graduation option.  The five participating colleges and universities are:

  • Central Washington University;
  • Eastern Washington University;
  • The Evergreen State College;
  • Washington State University; and
  • Western Washington University.

Juniors at Gig Harbor, Peninsula, or Henderson Bay high schools can now apply to the program and hear back from participating colleges and universities during their senior year. Students can qualify for guaranteed admission if they have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are on track to complete the College Academic Distribution Requirements.

Students should talk with their college and career counselor to learn more and apply.
