In the 2022-2023 school year, we witnessed an exceptional display of dedication and community engagement from the students of Peninsula, Gig Harbor, and Henderson Bay high schools. A total of 65 students from these schools earned their Varsity Letter in Community Service, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact on their local community.
To qualify for a Varsity Letter in Community Service, students had to fulfill two key requirements. First, they needed to accumulate a minimum of 100 hours of community service. Second, they were expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. These criteria ensured that the students not only excelled in their academic pursuits but also actively contributed their time and efforts towards serving others.
A Collective Effort:
Together, the 65 students dedicated an impressive 8,041 hours of community service throughout the school year. This substantial amount of time represents countless moments spent helping local organizations and making a tangible difference in the lives of community members.
