Dear Peninsula School District Community,
We are happy to report that we had a very successful first full week of the antigen testing in our buildings; with over 900 staff and students tested and only 2 individuals testing positive.
There is still time for students and staff to take part in the school-based voluntary COVID-19 testing pilot. Students and staff may be tested free of charge now through December 18. The rapid antigen testing pilot is a partnership between the Peninsula School District and the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. See current testing location schedule.
A signed consent form is necessary for each student (Spanish and Russian) and staff member being tested. Please send the signed form to school with your child. The consent form only needs to be signed once and will be in place for the duration of the testing pilot.df
If you or your child is feeling unwell, please go to an identified COVID-19 testing site to be tested, not your local school/work location. People cannot enter a school building if showing symptoms.
Individuals who are symptomatic and/or isolating after a previous positive COVID-19 test should not come to our school testing sites, which are located inside school facilities. Instead, please use a mobile testing site where there is the ability to be tested from a vehicle and not expose others.
We want your decision about testing to be an informed one. Please see links below should you want more information or answers to frequently asked questions.

We are hopeful to have as much participation as possible, as testing helps quickly identify and isolate positive cases to prevent disease spread and provides valuable data for school and public health officials to help inform deciding when and how students and staff can return to in-person learning.
