The below message was sent to families in the Peninsula School District on Friday, May 7. Learning preference surveys were sent via with unique links associated with each student.
Dear Peninsula School District Families,
We are excited about next fall and safely offering in-person and virtual learning options for all students full-time, 5 days a week. Safety for everyone will be our priority and we will continue to adhere to the safety protocols outlined by the Washington State Department of Health and the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
Fall 2021 Learning Preference Survey
As we shared last week, we are inviting families to help us plan for fall by completing a short learning-preference survey.
Information gathered from this survey will help us understand the interest our families have for in-person and virtual learning options and will allow us to effectively plan our staffing models for the 2021-2022 school year. An important note about this interest survey is that it’s not binding for parents at this time. We know much can happen between now and September, so we will survey families again mid-summer.
Each student has a unique link so please complete the survey for each child in your family. This survey will be open now through Sunday, May 16. (Unique student link included in this location of emailed message).
Global Virtual Academy (GVA)
The Global Virtual Academy is not remote learning as it was this school year. We will take what has been learned over the past year and work to improve on it as we offer this option for students grades K-12. We will offer a fully virtual option for grades K-12 and for K-5, we will also offer a combined virtual/in-person option. Next week, May 10-14, you can join an information and feedback session via Zoom to learn about the elementary and secondary GVA.
Monday, May 10, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 11, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 12, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Wednesday, May 12, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 13, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Registration for the sessions is here: https://forms.gle/NSyxXHS9iGYmqfSv7.
We’ve taken all that we have learned from our experiences with online learning through the Peninsula Internet Academy, and with remote learning this year, and applied it to a framework we believe will serve our families best as we welcome students to the 2021-2022 school year. Come fall, we will be ready for each and every student no matter where they are in their educational journey.
Thank you for all you do for our students and each other.
