The much anticipated Fish Bowl varsity football game between Gig Harbor High School and Peninsula High School is set for this Friday, Sept. 17 at Roy Anderson Field. Kickoff is at 7pm.

The Fish Bowl is annually one of our district's most anticipated and well-attended events. Please carefully review and adhere to the following guidelines as we prepare for the 2021 Fish Bowl.

We have all done a lot of work over the last 18 months to get sports and activities back up and running and we need to do everything in our power to make sure these participation opportunities continue to be available for our students.

  • Game Details: Kickoff is set for 7 pm on Friday, Sept. 17 at Roy Anderson Field. Gates open for spectators at 4:30 pm.

  • Face Covering/Mask Requirement: If you or your student plans to attend, please wear a face covering. Face coverings are required for everyone attending, regardless of vaccination status, as per the Tacoma-Pierce County Department of Health and the Washington State Department of Health.

  • Streaming and Radio Options: For those not attending in-person, the game will be live streamed with a subscription on the NFHS Network.

    • Monthly Subscription: $10.99/month - Billed monthly, can cancel anytime

Additionally, KGHP-FM Radio will carry a radio broadcast of the game. Listen via radio or by visiting kghp.org.

  • Pre-Purchase Tickets: Tickets may be pre-purchased on the Bookkeeper website.

Tickets will also be available on site at Roy Anderson Field, starting at 4:30 pm.

Seat Reservations: Seats for Fishbowl can ONLY be reserved (preferably for those with mobility issues) on Friday from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. No tape may be used directly on the bleachers.  All others will be taken down prior to 2:30 pm. The stadium will be locked at all other times until gates re-open for spectators at 4:30 pm.

  • Venue Rules:

    • No open fires or alcohol consumption allowed anywhere on PSD grounds.

    • No backpacks or food/drinks allowed to be brought inside gates. Food trucks will be available inside the stadium.

    • It is imperative that 62nd Ave NW (road behind Roy Anderson Field scoreboard) remain clear of cars and people to allow medical personnel vehicle access.

    • The South Sound Conference Sportsmanship Agreement includes spectator expectations (no artificial noisemakers, face paint, hand held signs, throwing powder, only positive signage and no mention of the opponent, etc.).

  • Support The Food Bowl: The annual food drive competition between the high schools is happening this week leading up to Friday’s game.

All food goes to Food Backpacks 4 Kids and is used to provide food for 200 families with over 500 kids in the Peninsula School District.

Non-perishable items are encouraged to be donated. Most needed items right now include macaroni cups, granola bars, juice boxes, snack crackers, muffin/baking mix, chili, refried beans, and cheese (coolers are at schools for cheese) may be purchased and dropped off.

Donate at Gig Harbor High School or Peninsula High School (choose the school you'd like to support!) during school hours until Friday at 9:30 am.

Extracurricular activities like the Fish Bowl are only possible during this pandemic if we adhere to the safety guidelines. Please help us make sure these participation opportunities continue to be available for our students by doing your part. In closing, thank you for your tremendous support of our schools!
