Being a proficient reader by the third grade is critical for lifelong success. As a part of our new five-year strategic plan, the Peninsula School District (PSD) has set a goal that all
third-grade students will read at or above grade level by 2026.

To reach this visionary goal, we need YOU, our community. PSD is spearheading a new community-wide initiative across the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula communities.

Peninsula School District and our partners will host a series of community activities to promote reading and literacy. Events will include:

  • Special guest readers at our schools;
  • Community activities at our local businesses and public spaces;
  • Special support from our local businesses and libraries;
  • School reading nights; and more!

We are looking for businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in helping host an event or be a part of this planning process. Anyone interested can email Executive Director of Student Services Lisa Reaugh at reaughl@psd401.net or Director of Communications Aimee Gordon at gordona@psd401.net.
