Peninsula School District's CFO, Ashley Murphy, Receives WASBO Award of Merit

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the heart of our Peninsula School District community. Our very own Chief Financial Officer, Ashley Murphy, has been honored with the WASBO Award of Merit at this year's WASBO Annual Conference in Tacoma.

The WASBO Award of Merit is a recognition given by the Washington Association of School Business Officials to members who have made significant contributions to the organization and have exemplified outstanding service in the field of school business management over the past year. This award highlights the dedication and hard work of individuals like Ashley, who go above and beyond to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of school operations statewide.

Ashley's journey in school business began at the State Auditor's Office, providing her a robust foundation in public sector finance. In 2017, she brought her expertise to the North Mason School District, serving initially as Business Manager and later as Executive Director of Finance and Operations. In 2022, Ashley joined our team at PSD, where she has continued to drive positive changes and foster fiscal responsibility.

Apart from managing our district's finances, Ashley chairs the ASB Networking Group and is a frequent presenter at WASBO conferences, sharing her knowledge and insights to help other professionals grow and succeed. Her leadership and commitment have not only propelled her professional growth but have also significantly benefited our district and the larger educational community.

During the award presentation, Tammy Bigelow, Director of Business Services at Franklin Pierce School District and a WASBO Board Director, praised Ashley's impact, stating, "Ashley is a force to be reckoned with, and her professional journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. The impact of Ashley’s passion and dedication spreads far and wide. Thank you, Ashley, for everything that you do."

We are incredibly proud of Ashley's accomplishments and are fortunate to have such a dedicated leader on our team. Her work ensures that our educational resources are managed effectively, supporting our commitment to providing the best possible educational experiences for "Every Child, Every Day."

Congratulations, Ashley, on this well-deserved honor!
