Scott Yingling Named Assistant Principal of Harbor Ridge Middle School

Scott Yingling, current assistant principal at Gig Harbor High School, has been chosen as Harbor Ridge Middle School’s new assistant principal. HRMS assistant principal, Brian Wickens, was promoted to HRMS principal earlier this month when principal Mike Benoit was hired to be the principal at Peninsula High School.

Mr. Yingling has been in education for 16 years. He’s a graduate of Central Washington University and received his master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Washington University.

Mr. Yingling began his teaching career in the South Kitsap School District, where he taught theater arts and directed plays for nine years at South Kitsap High School. While in South Kitsap, he also had the privilege of directing plays and coaching at the middle school level. Mr. Yingling was an assistant principal at Battle Ground High School for six years before coming to Gig Harbor High School last year.

Mr. Yinging grew up in Port Orchard. When he’s not at school, you will find him spending time with his wife, Erica, and two children, Ashlyn and Brixon. His hobbies include running, watching movies, and collecting comic books.
