Upcoming Work May Impact Student Drop-off and Pick-up Starting in September

PSE will be performing a natural gas system improvement project that, once completed, will increase service reliability for customers throughout the greater Gig Harbor area. A postcard will be sent to the community from PSE detailing when construction work is expected along the route, as construction progresses.

Traffic delays from ongoing construction may impact student drop-off and pick-up at Swift Water Elementary and Harbor Ridge Middle School starting in September.

Project Details:

  • Who: Natural gas crews from PSE and InfraSource
  • What: Installing approximately 1.2 miles of natural gas main
  • When: Work is expected to begin as early as September 1 and last approximately 3 months
  • Typical work hours are generally Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Where: Starting on 96th Street Northwest, continuing along Burnham Road and Harborview Drive, finishing northwest of Donkey Creek Park.

What You Can Expect:

  • There will be intermittent traffic delays throughout the duration of the project.
  • There will likely be noise from trucks and heavy machinery during work hours.
  • The Cushman Trail will remain open during construction. Signs and flaggers will guide trail pedestrians safely through the work zone.
