Welcome Wendy Malich: Director of Athletics and Activities

Peninsula School District is thrilled to welcome Wendy Malich as our new Director of Athletics and Activities. This pivotal role is designed to oversee all athletic and extracurricular programs across our secondary schools, ensuring a holistic and enriching student experience.

Wendy brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in educational athletics administration. Since 2003, she has served as the Director of Athletics and Activities and the Title IX Coordinator at Franklin Pierce School District.

Before joining the Franklin Pierce School District, she served as Athletic Director and Dean of Students starting in 1993 at Washington High School. Wendy’s leadership extends beyond district boundaries; she has been an influential member of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Executive Board since 2006.

Additionally, she holds significant roles with the Washington Secondary Schools Athletic Administrators Association (WSSAAA), the West Central District Executive Board, and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
Wendy’s outstanding contributions to athletics administration have been widely recognized. In 2024, she was honored as both the Washington State Athletic Director of the Year and the West Central District Athletic Director of the Year. Her commitment to student athletics and leadership in the field was further acknowledged in 2022 with the prestigious Doug McArthur Lifetime Achievement Award.

Wendy is excited to bring her passion for student development and her strategic vision to Peninsula School District, aiming to foster environments where students can excel both in and out of the arena. We are confident that her leadership will enhance our programs and inspire our students to achieve their full potential.
