Graphic showing a collage of four schools. "Focus on Education 2022."

To celebrate American Education Week during Nov. 14 - 19, Peninsula School District is inviting the community to attend “Focus on Education” tours at four of the district’s newly constructed elementary schools:

  • Artondale Elementary;
  • Evergreen Elementary;
  • Pioneer Elementary; and
  • Swift Water Elementary.

Students will lead attendees through their school on a tour to highlight areas such as the library, commons area, community spaces, flex areas, maker spaces, and much more.

Visitors will get a chance to peek in on classes in session. We think you'll be impressed with the way our teachers engage students and utilize technology such as interactive panels, Chromebooks, and amplification systems to enhance student learning. Students and staff are proud of their schools and are excited to show guests what they do on a daily basis.

Each tour will include time to hear from the building principal and Superintendent Krestin Bahr.

The four featured schools were made possible when Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula voters approved a $198.55 million bond referendum in 2019 to allow for their construction.

All tours start at 9:30 a.m. in front of each school’s main entrance.
