Families and community members are invited to the Pioneer Community Open House on Tuesday, March 1 starting at 4:30 pm.
Pioneer became the first new elementary school to be added to the district in 34 years when it opened for students on January 19, 2021. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on February 24, 2021, but due to COVID-19 restrictions at that time, the building could not be opened to the community for tours. Now, we are providing that chance. Open house attendees can walk a designated tour route with staff and students present to answer questions and provide highlights.
Attendees are asked to wear face coverings and observe physical distancing as we follow current COVID-19 safety protocols.
The Pioneer Elementary School project was the first school completed out of four elementary school construction projects, and six projects overall, funded by the 2019 capital projects bond. The bond was passed by voters, approving school construction to address extreme elementary school overcrowding and other emergency infrastructure needs.
