Facilities Manager

Welcome to the Peninsula School District's Capital Projects Department. Our mission is to manage and oversee the development and improvement of school facilities. We are committed to creating safe, modern, and efficient learning environments that support student success.

Community Supported

In February 2019, the Peninsula School District community passed a $198.55 million bond for school construction to address extreme elementary overcrowding and other emergent infrastructure needs.

The projects identified in the bond included:

  • Construction of Swift Water Elementary and Pioneer Elementary
  • Replacements of Artondale Elementary and Evergreen Elementary

All four elementary school projects were completed in 2021.

Once the district created a plan to address elementary overcrowding and emergent facility needs, the next priority was addressing emergent needs and overcrowding at our two oldest middle schools.

Because of cost-saving steps made by the district, additional state assistance for Swift Water Elementary, and an accelerated construction schedule for the four elementary projects, the district was able to modernize and expand Key Peninsula Middle School and Kopachuck Middle School without asking voters to approve another bond.

These projects would not have been possible without the support of our voters and the passing of the 2019 bond, which provides quality, flexible spaces for learning in the Peninsula School District. Thank you voters
