Student Transfer Requests

We understand that families may have different needs and preferences for their child's education. Our goal is to provide clear and accessible information to support your transfer requests within or outside our district.


Transfer Policy and Procedure

Policy 3130 and Procedure 3130P, titled “In-District Student Transfers”, identifies the guidelines for a resident student who wishes to transfer between schools within the Peninsula School District. 

Policy 3141 and Procedure 3141P, titled “CHOICE Transfer for Out of District Students”, identifies the guidelines for a student who resides outside the district and wishes to attend a school in the Peninsula School District.

Policy 3140 indentifies the guidelines for a student who wishes to be released from the Peninsula School District to attend school in another school district.

Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten

 

Transfer Forms

  • For students, living within Peninsula School District boundaries, who wish to attend a school other than their resident school:

    • Within District Transfer Requests, for the next school year will be considered April 1 to April 30.
    • Transfer decisions on those requests will be made no later than June 30.
    • Applications will continue to be accepted as received from families new to Peninsula School District.
    • Applications will also be accepted for current students when/if the student/parent can show good cause.
    • Any request for transfer received after August 1 will not be considered until after the first 10 days of school.

    REMINDER: All Current Transfer Students must reapply for continued transfer rights no later than April 30th for the next school year.

  • For students residing outside of the Peninsula School District boundaries:

    • You may enter your CHOICE Transfer Requests anytime the Washington State Portal is open. PSD considers these requests, for the next school year, between May 1 to May 31.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Transfer decisions regarding acceptance or denial of requests for next school year will be made within the 45 day limit. School Board Policy 3140/3140p states CHOICE Transfer decisions, for the next school year, will be made no later than July 1 (which is within the 45 days from May 1 and May 31).
    • Applications will be accepted thereafter for students when and if the student/parent can show good cause.
    • Applications will continue to be accepted as received from families new to the area.

  • To enroll in a program in another Washington State school district the State of Washington requires a CHOICE Transfer Request be submitted through the resident school district. Click the button below to complete and submit your request.

    Paper forms available upon request. Forms must be submitted to your resident school district (determined by current residential address).
