Celebrating Our Unsung Heroes: Maintenance, Grounds, Custodians, and Warehouse Staff Recognition Wee
This week (September 29 - October 3, 2025), Peninsula School District proudly celebrates our Maintenance, Grounds, Custodians, and Warehouse Staff Recognition Week. These dedicated professionals work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our schools are safe, clean, and welcoming environments where students can thrive.
At last week's board meeting, we had the honor of recognizing three outstanding team members who exemplify the dedication and excellence of our facilities staff:
- Jeff Yeager, PSD Grounds Tech - Jeff's commitment to maintaining beautiful, safe outdoor spaces across our district helps create an environment where learning flourishes.
- Kurt Carlson, Gig Harbor High School Custodian - Kurt's attention to detail and dedication ensure that GHHS remains a clean, healthy space for students and staff every day.
- Chris Lavine, PSD HVAC Tech - Chris works diligently to maintain optimal learning environments by ensuring our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems operate efficiently throughout our facilities.
These team members were recognized by Director of Capital Projects Patrick Gillespie, Facilities Manager Candy Lawson, and our Board of Directors for their exceptional service to our district community.
Throughout this week, we encourage everyone in the Peninsula School District community to take a moment to thank the maintenance, grounds, custodial, and warehouse staff at your school. Their hard work, often performed when students and staff aren't present, makes everything else possible.
Thank you to all our facilities team members for your unwavering commitment to creating exceptional learning environments for our students!
