Peninsula School District Honored as Transfr Trailblazer Innovation Igniter

We're thrilled to announce that Peninsula School District has been named the 2025 Transfr Trailblazer Innovation Igniter Award Winner – a prestigious national honor recognizing our innovative approach to career exploration and workforce development!
Under the leadership of CTE Director Kelsey Parke, our district brought VR "career road shows" into middle schools and fully integrated immersive career exploration into our curriculum. This innovative approach is transforming how students discover their passions and plan their futures.
The Impact:
- 184 students were surveyed about the VR program
- 60% rated the experience as highly engaging
- Nearly half said it shaped their career plans
- Creating a scalable model, now expanding districtwide
This recognition celebrates our commitment to providing cutting-edge learning experiences that connect students with real-world career pathways. By combining virtual reality technology with hands-on career exploration, we're breaking down barriers and opening doors to futures our students may never have imagined.
"This award reflects our district's dedication to innovation and preparing students for success in tomorrow's workforce," said CTE Director Kelsey Parke. "We're honored to be recognized nationally for work that's making a real difference in our students' lives."
