February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month in Peninsula School District!

February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month, and Peninsula School District is excited to celebrate how students learn by doing, explore interests, and build skills that prepare them for the future — from elementary curiosity to middle school exploration to high school career pathways. CTE helps students connect what they’re learning in school to real careers and real opportunities. This month, we’re highlighting how CTE is Career Readiness for all students.
On February 3, student leaders from our high schools will come together for a CTSO (Career & Technical Student Organization) Celebration and will lead a School Board agenda item, sharing what they’ve learned, how they’ve grown as leaders, and why CTE matters to their future. Their voices help tell the story of the powerful learning happening across our district. Throughout the month, students and families will see highlights of CTE programs and opportunities, including hands-on classes, career exploration, dual credit options, industry-recognized certifications, and technical school pathways. These opportunities support student interests and help families make informed decisions as course registration and planning take place. Students will also connect directly with professionals through the Future Readiness Center, which will host industry partners, labor unions, and technical colleges during February. Middle school students will have the chance to explore careers using Career Prep VR Headsets when the Future Readiness Center visits each middle school during lunchtime.
We’re proud of the work our students and educators are doing every day to build skills, confidence, and career readiness. We invite families to join us in celebrating CTE Month and learning more about the many pathways available to students across Peninsula School District.
