Peninsula School District families and community members are invited to witness history in the making on Thursday, September 18 — our very first drone performance show featuring 300 illuminated drones dancing across the night sky at Gig Harbor High School. 

Event Details

• When: Thursday September 18, 2025

• Time: Gates open at 8 p.m., show will start near 8:45 p.m. (weather permitting). 

• Where: Gig Harbor High School’s upper turf fields.

• Cost: FREE admission!

• Parking: Free parking is available in the GHHS staff and student parking lots.

• Bring your own seating! Bring your chairs and blankets and find a spot on the turf. 

This performance represents the incredible work of our Peninsula School District Drone Performance Team, one of only two student-led drone performance programs in the nation! Our students have been learning cutting-edge skills in drone technology, flight operations, computer programming, computer animation, robotics, and aviation. Students can work towards their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Licenses, giving them industry-recognized certifications before they graduate high school. 

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet drone team members at the welcome booth. This is an opportunity for your child to learn about the new program and maybe spark their own interest in this exciting field that combines technology, art, and science.
