Career Connected Partnerships between business and community organizations and Career and Technical Education (CTE) are deeply impactful for student aspirations and in helping them create their future while developing important skills. BECOME A PARTNER TODAY!

Here are six different ways you could get involved!

1.) ADVISORY TEAM

Career and Technical Education (CTE) advisories meet between 3 and 5 times a year and consist of representatives from education, industry, and community organizations. Together, they work to ensure that CTE programs align with the needs of local employers and prepare students for high-demand careers. Topics may include

Program planning, approval, and evaluation
Resource recommendations
Instructor support
High quality CTE assurances

2.) GUEST PRESENTER

By sharing your personal career journey and experiences, being a guest speaker or presenter in CTE programs can foster inspiration, connections, and opportunities for students. This connection will provide students with valuable information, inspiration, and opportunities that can help to prepare them for successful careers in high-demand fields.

3.) JOB SHADOW EXPERIENCE

Job shadowing experiences in CTE programs provide students with valuable real-world experience, helping them make more informed decisions about their future careers and preparing them for the workforce by giving them the knowledge and skills to succeed.

4.) FIELD TRIPS

Field trips such as workplace tours offer students hands-on experience, allowing them to explore career options, observe industry operations, and connect with professionals in their field of interest. It also provides an opportunity for students to ask questions, observe work in progress, and interact with professional adults.

5.) CAREER FAIR PARTICIPANT

Career Fairs help students make more informed decisions about their future education and career paths. They provide students with an opportunity to explore different career options and gather information about potential pathways. They also serve as a great way for organizations to connect with and invest in future employees!

6.) HIRE STUDENTS!

Employing students (and graduates!) can benefit your business or organization by building community connections, reducing turnover rates, and supporting economic development in our Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula, and surrounding communities.
