Purposeful Technology at PSD

In today’s rapidly evolving world, innovation and educational technology are essential in creating equitable learning environments for all students. At Peninsula School District (PSD), we believe that integrating technology with innovative practices empowers students to remain curious, take risks, and succeed in a dynamic future. The role of the Technology Support team is to ensure that every student has access to the tools, resources, and skills necessary to thrive, actively bridging the digital equity gap. By providing digital access and supporting teachers and students, we extend learning beyond the classroom and create opportunities for all learners to succeed.

Our Belief

We believe the most effective learning happens through strong relationships, high-quality instruction, and meaningful student engagement. Technology enhances these conditions when used with intention, not simply because a device is available. We don't measure success by screen time. We measure it by whether technology helps students access learning, create original work, collaborate, and solve real problems — often in ways that would be harder to reach without it. Passive, routine screen use isn't the goal; purposeful, active use is.

Devices & Access 

Every PSD student has access to a district-issued device suited to their grade level, from shared classroom iPads for younger learners to individually assigned MacBooks in later grades. These devices are configured to support instruction, protect student safety through content filtering, and ensure every student has equitable access to learning tools.
