Business & Marketing Career and Technical Education 
Peninsula School District’s Business & Marketing CTE program prepares students for success in today’s fast-paced, tech-driven economy. Starting as early as middle school, students can begin to develop foundational skills through courses like App Creators and Computer Science for Innovators and Makers, building a pathway toward high school options that blend entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and real-world work experience.

At the high school level, students across the district can choose from a wide range of business and marketing-focused courses including:

  • College, Career, & Financial Exploration (.5 credit / 90 hrs)

  • Career Choices: Community Transition Program (1 credit / 180 hrs)

  • Entrepreneurship (.5 credit / 90 hrs)

  • Introduction to Marketing (.5 credit / 90 hrs)

  • Retail Operations and Management (Student Store) (1 credit / 180 hrs)

  • Worksite Learning (1 credit / 360 hrs) – gain real experience with local employers

This dynamic program empowers students to develop critical thinking, communication, and digital fluency while exploring future careers in business, technology, entrepreneurship, and beyond. Whether they dream of managing a company, launching a startup, or building the next big app, PSD students can graduate with a strong foundation for college, career, and life.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects that employment in advertising, promotions, and marketing management will grow by approximately 8% from 2023 to 2033, outpacing the 4% average for all occupations. That translates into about 36,600 job openings each year!

From game programming and entrepreneurship to financial exploration and retail operations, the skills developed through PSD’s CTE courses align tightly with future job trends.
