PSD offers a variety of summer programs for students in need of extra support.

High School Opportunities

  • Program Summary

    This program is designed for students who need assistance with recovering credits needed for graduation. 

    Credit recovery is held from 8-10 a.m., followed by enrichment activities from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. Depending on student interests, students may choose another credit recovery opportunity in lieu of the enrichment activities. 

    The Enrichment Camp portion of the day gives an opportunity to learn new skills, hang out with friends, and explore interests in a fun, supportive environment. 

    Eligible Students

    All current 9th through 12th grade students.

    8 a.m. through 12 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 8-26.

  • Program Summary:
    PSD is offering online summer learning classes for students seeking a .5 credit in the following courses:

    • Health (incoming 9-12)
    • P.E. (incoming 9-12)
    • College Career & Finance Exploration (CCFE; incoming 10-12 only)

    Students may only enroll into ONE course.

    Eligible Students:
    Incoming 9th through 12th grade students.

    Date and Time:
    Students must begin coursework on Thursday, June 25. Passing coursework must be completed by Thursday, August 6 at 12 pm to receive .5 credit. 

    Location:
    Fully online for Gig Harbor, Henderson Bay, and Peninsula High School students.

    Cost:

    $200 per course, with financial aid available for families eligible for free/reduced lunch.

    Registration—Opens Monday, June 1 and closes Wednesday, June 17 at 12 noon:

    1. Students fill out the Registration link. It is recommended that if students are uncertain which course to take to speak with their counselor.
    2. Due to limited course capacity, an email will be sent to confirm enrollment or if the student is waitlisted. Priority will be given to incoming juniors and seniors.
    3. Upon confirmation of enrollment, the $200 registration fee will be posted to the student’s account from the High School Bookkeeper. Contact the Bookkeeper if you need assistance with the online payment. Enrollment is not confirmed until payment is made.

    4. Students will receive a confirmation email by Tuesday, June 23 that they are enrolled in the course. The course will show on their Schoology course list by Thursday.

Right At School Summer Camp

Right at School Summer Camp – Gig Harbor

Make sure your kids have a cool, safe, enriching, and FUN place to spend their summer days so you can focus on your everyday to-dos. With flexible scheduling available, stay for the whole summer, pop in for a week, or even just a day! Summer camp 2025 is hosted at (INSERT LOCATION HERE).

FB4K Family Pantry

Open 12 – 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9127 154th Ave Ct. NW (Key Center) 

  • We are open to any person in need of food.
  • Choose the foods that are right for your family.
  • We offer staples, dairy, meats, and produce as available.

Summer Lunch in the Park

Open at 12 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 9th through August 29th at Gateway Park, Home Park, the KP Civic Center, and Gig Harbor Skatepark. 

  • Free Nutritious Sack Lunch.
  • For kids of all ages.

Community Clothing Giveaway

Shop for new-to-you clothes, outfits for kids going back to school, clothes and accessories for all ages, and more. Free for the whole community! Hosted at the Key Peninsula Civic Center, 17010 S. Vaughn Road NW.

Free Summer Lunch Program

Free Summer Meals – For ages 18 and under

If your child receives free of reduced-price meals during the school year, you should know Free Summer Meals are available for every kid, 18 and under, all summer long. You can find great meal sites at schools, parks, and community centers throughout Washington. 

It’s a great way to make sure your child eats healthy this summer and it can save your family up to $3,000 a month!
