WORK HOURS MONDAY - FRIDAY: 4.0 HOURS UP TO 8.0 HOURS PER DAY DEPENDING ON ROUTE SCHEDULE
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
If you love kids, and the challenge of driving a larger bus on the road every day excites you, the Peninsula School District is eager to hire you as a school bus driver! As a bus driver, you become an important and steady person in these young children's lives. Each day gives you the opportunity to get a child's day started off right and remind them that they are special and important. Having the ability to make the students feel comfortable is just as important as knowing how to drive the bus.
This position safely operates school buses under all types of weather conditions, including, but not limited to fog, rain, sleet, snow, and ice. Responsibilities include transporting students and other authorized persons over regular "to and from school" routes, and on-field, co-curricular, and special or extra activity trips as authorized by District officials.
A typical bus driver usually works early in the morning then late in the afternoon with a long break in-between. There is also the option of driving to and from field trips or other school activities to gain additional work hours. TRAINING DETAILS:
- Includes 3-6 weeks of Paid Training to obtain CDL with School Bus Endorsement
- Driver's Abstract, Fingerprint Background Check, Drug & Alcohol Testing, First Aid/CPR Certificate, DOT physical, and CDL test will be paid for and provided by Peninsula School District
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- Licensed Driver for at Least 5 Years
